The longest week :-)

So last week was one of the longest weeks I have had in FOREVER, but it was filled with fun stuff... Jewelry parties, water aerobics, a technology night at my kids' school, a bit of church,  craft projects, PTC projects, MoPs, kids sports, my son's belt testing for Tae Kwon Do (he's a green belt now-so proud), a cookout at a friend's house, bowling. Life just seems to be speeding up these days and sometimes, especially this past week, I feel like I'm missing that special time with my kids. I love them soooooooooo much! :-)
So all in all it was a good week! I had a blast working on crafts for secretary's day and for my girlfriends at the cookout. We had so many laughs at the cookout! It was exactly what I needed to end my week! Love you ladies!!!
Did I mention that between our five families we had 15 kids to keep us busy? GREAT times. :-D

Christmas Mixes for the Teachers

Every year I try to find a Christmas craft or recipe that I can make at home to gift to my children's teachers. This year I was inspired by a Pinterest© pin I found from  Sprinkle Some Fun .  Originally I was going to follow Rachel 's recipes and create some cute printable recipe cards to attach to the dip mixes. Instead, the process changed and while I followed her basic method, the recipes are my own creation. Please check out her post . They are really quite cute! A few discoveries in making this post:  1. Do not copy someone's recipes- It's a copyright violation (I'm new- I had NO idea) 2. Do not expect anyone's kindness or respect when you are a "hobby blogger" (Apparently I am very naïve) 3. Christmas Crafts

 So this painting is one I’ve worked on in stages because I was using some paint markers and layer my colors to get some areas to darken up a bit. It was quite a simple process, very slow and spread out over a couple days. I would sit down on the couch and be snuggled in with my husband, Sam, and half-watch a show we both liked while painting a bit.  It was like my own personal coloring time, I had a love doodling and trying new things! It is based off a random painting I saw on Facebook, but I don’t remember who posted it; sorry I can’t credit anyone on this (contact me if it’s yours and I’ll link you).  The one below is one I sketched out for my daughter, Lizzie, who is 8 years old. She loves craft time with Mom. So we broke out the paintbrushes and acrylics and she had a blast. We didn’t have brown at the time, so we tried to make some, but we didn’t have any yellow on hand. work, a new job, photos and rosette making

So today was another busy day...tax day end! Which for me means manning the desk at my dad's accounting firm for their end of the year luncheon. It's definitely fun to see all those serious accountants in hawaiian shirts. :-) It was also my husband's first day at his new job. He was so nervous this morning he couldn't finish his coffee. He came home in such high spirits today. He had the best first day I think he's ever had. He got his own office, his supervisor took him to lunch (and paid), and he got the grand tour of almost all the branch offices. Plus he'll get benefits in 90 days!! Congrats to my wonderful hubby! A couple of days ago I mentioned that a wonderful mom took my kiddos pictures? I got to see a couple of them online yesterday. They turned out awesome! Shannon did such a wonderful job.
