A birthday and a first communion

So this weekend has been quiet for our family, aside from a birthday party for our friends little girl and our nephew's first communion tomorrow. Of course I needed gifts for both and our budget is a little tight with the start of a new job for my hubby (did I mention that required a brand new wardrobe?). So the following pictures are what I came up with and the supplies I used.

work, a new job, photos and rosette making

So today was another busy day...tax day end! Which for me means manning the desk at my dad's accounting firm for their end of the year luncheon. It's definitely fun to see all those serious accountants in hawaiian shirts. :-) It was also my husband's first day at his new job. He was so nervous this morning he couldn't finish his coffee. He came home in such high spirits today. He had the best first day I think he's ever had. He got his own office, his supervisor took him to lunch (and paid), and he got the grand tour of almost all the branch offices. Plus he'll get benefits in 90 days!! Congrats to my wonderful hubby! A couple of days ago I mentioned that a wonderful mom took my kiddos pictures? I got to see a couple of them online yesterday. They turned out awesome! Shannon did such a wonderful job. Feel free to check the pictures out on her facebook page (Myer bunch is my group of cuties). Lastly, I made my first paper rosette tonight; and although it didn

Under the weather...or thereabouts

Well the weather was fairly cheerful yesterday when I took the kids to get their pictures taken at the Ludington State Park by a fellow MoPs mom, but shortly upon arriving home it got gloomy; and so did my health. I felt like crud and slept A LOT!  Today's weather was rainy and gloomy and I haven't felt much better...  However, I did get an e-mail from my upline with a list of discontinuing Stampin' Up! stamp sets, which always bums me out because I usually want EVERY single stamp in the catalog but never seem to end up buying them all. Something tells me my husband wouldn't be particularly thrilled if I spent every penny we earned on my fun stuff, hehe. The good, okay the GREAT, news is that this means we are getting close to the release of the NEW 2012-2013 catalog. The new catalog always contains some new and amazing stamp sets and ideas that I absolutely MUST have! So just like my spring cleaning phase, out with the old and in with the new!!!!  If you would lik
I've finally decided to bite the bullet and post my own blog, sharing my love of crafting and my family with all of you!  Today was an adventure. Have you ever taken a two and a half year old shopping along with your husband for boring office clothing? So not a fun chore, but with Play-Doh, a leapster explorer, and lots of silliness in our bag we headed out. Who would have guessed that Play-Doh on a simple lunch tray could keep my little lizzard quiet for 30 whole minutes in the car?! She didn't even cake it into any little crannies like we thought she might. The trip ended up being a great success for my husband's new wardrobe. We realized this was her first long trip with just mom and dad and she ate up every second of our silliness and love. She especially loved the Starbucks stop, a yummy raspberry Italian soda for her and frappuccinos for mom and dad. I desperately wanted to stop by Joann fabrics and pick up some pretty fabric to make this or maybe a couple canv
